CAMPUS AT HORTON

Speakers: Christie Kong, General Manager Horton, and Jimmy Parker, Director of SCP Culture Program

The Campus at Horton is a 1-million-square-foot, mixed-use technology and life sciences campus covering 10 acres over seven city blocks in the heart of Downtown San Diego. As one of the largest adaptive re-use projects in the western United States, the development features 40- to 70,000-square-foot office floor plates, 18-foot slab-to-slab heights, activated public green space, and one of the largest parking structures in the region. Horton also features over 300,000-square-feet of neighborhood-serving retail, dining, and wellness offerings. Project completion is slated for 2024.

SEAPORT SAN DIEGO

Speaker: Kathy Breedlove Director of Planning & Entitlements, 1HWY1, LLC

Seaport San Diego is a bold vision to transform the downtown waterfront. Currently undergoing environmental review by the Port of San Diego, the proposed project will include an observation tower, aquarium, event center, hospitality, retail/restaurant, waterside uses, and over 16 acres of public amenities featuring parks, an urban beach, and living shoreline.

BAY TO PARK PASEO

Speaker: Chloé Lauer – Co-Presenter

The Bay to Park Paseo project will transform an ordinary sidewalk into an extraordinary pedestrian experience and connect two of San Diego’s key attractions – San Diego Bay and Balboa Park -- with the many downtown landmarks along Park Boulevard. We have recruited an impressive array of talented designers, artists, and storytellers to design, build, and install memorable and impermanent interventions, which will debut in 2024. Bay to Park Paseo is endorsed by the World Design Capital 2024.
