Call-for-Action: Tax Reform Proposal

REALTORS(R) are asked to take action to protect important incentives for homeownership

The National Association of REALTORS(R) (NAR) has issued a Call-for-Action regarding the current tax reform proposal under consideration by Congress. REALTORS(R) from throughout the country are asked to contact their Members of Congress TODAY to request their opposition to the tax reform proposal and protect important homeowner incentives!

What's at Stake?

The current Congressional tax reform plan will lower federal rates but double tax Californians by eliminating state and local tax deductions, which will increase taxes on California homeowners by an estimated $3,000 a year. What's more, the proposal essentially eliminates the benefit of the mortgage interest deduction, one of the most important homebuyer incentives! Additional information can be found here.

What Can You Do To Help?

1. Submit a letter to your elected official. NAR has a pre-written letter that you can submit in two simple steps. Click here to submit your letter. Or you can text "Action" to 30644 to have the Call-for-Action sent directly to your phone.
