SAN DIEGO (August 30, 2017) – The International Real Estate Collaborative (IREC) recently hosted a group of 60 real estate agents and buyers on a tour of residential developments in Baja Mexico. The collaborative is affiliated with the Greater San Diego Association of REALTORS® and provides members with information, events, and resources about taking their business internationally.
With the housing market in San Diego offering less inventory and rapidly rising prices, IREC organized the caravan to look at properties “south of the border” as a viable option for San Diegans looking for primary or secondary homes.
Five properties were visited on the caravan and featured different locations, residential types, and price points, including luxury condos in Tijuana, a gated community on the beach, a condo tower in Rosarito, and other high-end investment properties still in their development phase. The variety of properties appealed not only to those want to live in Mexico and commute to San Diego, but also for buyers looking for vacation and investment income homes.
“The selection of properties suited many price points, and the information regarding rates, deposits, and trusts was invaluable,” said one member of the caravan. “I have never been to that area before because of the perceived safety issues so now I feel a lot more comfortable.”
This first caravan sold out, and based on the interest and positive feedback, another is planned for October 11, and a 3-day/2-night caravan to properties around Los Cabos at the tip of Baja Mexico is in the works for the end of January 2018. Details will be coming soon.
